Introduce yourself, put something out there, mix it up!

In other words, make yourself at home. Stop by occasionally and say hi.

Neighborhoods

After a couple of years on FB, I've decided their concept needs work. Someone ought to develop a social networking site built on the idea of neighborhoods instead of the open-ended concept of Friends. As long as it's not a gated community, why not build a site -- sort of what I'm trying to do here -- where people walk by, stop and chat, and head home. Neighborhoods are groups of people who live in the same vicinity. The vicinity can be defined broadly or narrowly. My friends and I can form a neighborhood through which people drive or visit for a while. Anyway, that's the idea.

Glee-ness

It's been years since I've watched anything on TV except Turner Classic Movies and PBS. Every show I read about or hear people talk about sounds like really bad shit. But I've just started watching "House" and "Glee" -- on Fox, to my horror. "Glee" is far more entertaining than I thought it would be. The show has what the movie Moulin Rouge had: it grabs you in the place where music and memory meet. Moulin Rouge worked for people or it didn't. It worked really well for me. I loved the pop musical references. In a way, I felt like I was listening to my own personal history. Glee evokes a similar feeling in me. Even the cheesiest song ("Total Eclipse of the Heart" anyone?) makes me smile. Anyway, I really like it.

Here goes...

So, I'm tired of Facebook's sneaky way of changing the rules without informing subscribers. Is it possible to step outside FB's sandbox and play? Let's see. This is my second blog (the other one is shadowcook.com) I'm new to blogspot, but I use this space to muse aloud. I'd love it if friends show up. It's open to anyone.
